June 3- Argo 2013 Academy Award Winner for Best Picture On November 4 1979, Iranian militants stormed the U.S. Embassy in Tehran taking 52 Americans hostage. Six Americans managed to slip away and find refuge in the home of Canadian Ambassador Ken Taylor. “Argo” chronicles the life-or-death covert operation to rescue the six Americans. 120 minutes.

June 10- Life of Pi  Embark on the adventure of a lifetime in this visual masterpiece from Oscar winner Ang Lee, based on the best-selling novel. After a cataclysmic shipwreck, young Pi Patel finds himself stranded on a lifeboat with the only other survivor – a ferocious Bengal tiger named Richard Parker. Bound by the need to survive, the two are cast on an epic journey that must be seen to be believed.123 minutes

June 17- Lincoln    Steven Spielberg’s Lincoln chronicles the final four months in the life of the man regarded as America’s greatest President. June 24- Les Miserables    Hugh Jackman, Russell Crowe and Anne Hathaway star in this critically-acclaimed adaptation of the epic musical phenomenon. Les Misérables captures the grittiness of life in 19th-century France, and the conflict between right, wrong, and the concept of redemption.158 minutes

Youth Programs

Every Wednesday @ 3:30pm SML will have an activity for youth ages 8-12 including games, crafts and movies.

One Saturday a month we will have a family friendly board game day.  Families are encouraged to bring a favorite game from home or play one of ours!  The next  Game Day will be held Saturday April 27 from 12-2 PM.

Join us this summer for our Summer Reading Program “Dig into Reading” ages and 5 and up welcome!

Our kick off will be June 27, 2013 at 1:00pm with Magician Steve Finer!

December 25, 1921- September 29, 2012

Ann long time library  advocate and one of the founding members of the Sherburne Friends of the Library died Saturday September 29, 2012.  She was the community’s “Keeper of the Flame, ” beloved by many friends and family she will be dearly missed. Her youthful spirit, art, inspiration, keen wit, and humor will be with us always.

A Celebration of Ann’s Life will be held early Summer of 2013.

Toddler Story Time

Every  Wednesday and Friday at 10:30 am , join the fun with Children’s Librarian Heather Grev for story time.

Birth to age 4 welcome.

The last Wednesday story time will be June 12, 2013. Story time will only be held on Fridays at 10:30 am.  We are sorry for any inconvenience but encourage parents and caregivers to join us Fridays all summer long!
